A fond thanks to all.

As a writer with a full time job it is difficult to keep in contact. This is no excuse by the way, if you want to be out there you must find the time. This unfortunately is the truth. First off I would like to thank all those fantastic people who have bothered to follow me on either WordPress, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin. I would also like to say a special thankyou to all those who have bought my book Rise of a phoenix. To all I say thankyou and I hope to hear more from you all.cropped-rofp_high.jpg

A Museum is not about the past its about past lives.

Sorry i have not graced you all with my typing errors and ban-ta. Today i was going to talk about something different, but then i received a Facebook message from a friend who runs a Museum in a place called Fallingbostel in north Germany.  Now the work he does is not to show shiny tanks and guns(even though there are some) but he shows things as they should be shown. A Museum should be about how people lived and died in adverse conditions and if it can bring closure then that is a another wonder of these wonderful places.

Using the link above please watch this amazing tale of one girls search for her grandfather who went missing during the war, this just shows the amazing work that  Kevin Greenhalgh and his team do.

below is a link to his facebook page.

Please support him and his team by just looking at the sight and if your ever in Germany just pop in.

Rise of the Phoenix

The warm August night air was still, and above the bustling streets of New York city, the cloudless sky gave a wonderful view of the sparkling heavens and a moon that shone as brightly as the morning sun. Traffic flowed smoothly, and the bright illumination from stores and streetlights served as a contrast to the dark.

City folk hurried on their way, and tourists stopping to capture memories as they stared in awe of the immense structures and breathing in the pleasant aromas from restaurants and delis and wallowing in awe by such a great city. From her open office window Karen Lane could hear the sounds of sirens wailing and the blaring horns of angry taxi drivers, but she had no time to take a moment to look out upon the fantastic view below her; no, she had work to do, a mass of paperwork to write up for…

The dead and the Dying….man flu.

For all those who have missed my little twitterings, i have had one of the worst bugs. The man flu.

Anywho that aside, whilst laid up caughing things up that should have their own government i pondered about may things. We as writers hold a responsabilaty to our readers this is true. They after all keep us going, not just in been kind enough to pay us but in suport.

But as writers we also support each other, now as i tryed to look at twitter ( through many different styles of blurred vision) i could not help but notice the majoraty of people who retweet you back and stick around are other writters. ( Not all so calm yourselves.)

Which in effect proves my point of family, authors, writers, agents, editors, script writers. we are all under the same family and i feel humble to be apart of something such as that.

The fans we have (ok me not so much as of yet…) are awesome and we should never forget that, these are the ones who stand by us no matter what. Now on this sight i have several people who sit quietly and follow this page and to them i say thankyou.

So as the day draws to a midday i would like to wish all a fantastic weekend. be safe and remember there are awesome books to be written and read.

The Equalizer…. but no Jaguar in sight.

equi

So last night my good lady and myself ventured to the local cinema to catch the latest flick. The Equalizer.

Now to start with for all you fans of the original series with the excellent Edward Woodward, turn your brains off. apart from the man’s name this is a different fish. This is more an homage than a remake, so with that in mind lets begin.

Firstly, brilliantly made. it has all the qualities. Great story, action a bit of the heart string thing going as well. brilliant.

You have characters you can route for as well as others you can’t wait for the sticky end. Bad points? well that’s really down to the individual i suppose. it starts off slow but it is well paced, it lets you ease into the story and not just bam.

As an all-rounder film (for both boys and girls) it works, my good lady said that she enjoyed it as did i.

Is it a “One for the collection?” Well, yes. its up there with Jack Reacher and Taken and may other sunday lazy day films.

Ok to end this little ditty marks out of ten on personal vote it would be a 8.5-9.0/ 10.

It is well made as i said and the acting is excellent, camera work is captivating. Go, watch it for yourselves you wont be disappointed. but for the fans of the original, keep an open mind.

The Phoenix has risen.

Its nearly here.

After a long battle (only with work and the Playstation) book one of my series is about to hit the Amazon shelves.

Now i am no longer just an author i am a PUBLISHED one, (let fly the balloons). unfortunately that leaves me in a bit of a pickle. You see “Yes the book is out there” but now i have to move my butt and write more, oh the hell of it all.

                                                        RofP_low

“What does the future bring and have i really thought it through?” well yes and no really.

For someone to sit down and type out over 98 thousand words is well madness most would say but that first one has a great feeling to it, it’s that moment of “Yes i have done that”. I wouldn’t dare put it up there with climbing Everest or trekking to the Pole, however for the normal Joe that is something that will be remembered for ever. “I DID THAT AND IT WAS AWESOME”. To the point of starting a series.

So if one day your flicking through Amazon and happen across my book please, spare a thought and who knows you may even like it.

sorry for not writing.

Greetings and many salutations. Well it has been a busy time around here. The cover of my book RISE OF A PHOENIX has been approved and hopefully out end of the month on Amazon. Work on book 3 is slow but on track, but all in all not a second to myself but worse of all to you. As the weekend approaches I feel a joy I have more time to chat with you all. Goodnight and be well.
